Ricketts Glen Engagement Session-Molly & John

mj-52

My first engagement session of 2017 and it was freezing! Not chilly or cold, FREEZING. I was bundled up, lot of layers, Molly and John– not even jackets!!!

Molly and I had gone back and forth a few times with ideas for where to have their engagement shoot.  When we decided on Ricketts Glen I had visions of frosty waterfalls and rocks as our background.

Clearly I was not thinking about:
1. How dangerous it would be to with all of the ice everywhere–hello, its January! (they close the trails in the winter–who knew?)
2. How we would turn into people popsicles attempting to walk anywhere in those temperatures.

So, there was no rocks or falls, but there was SNOW! A fresh 2 inches of undisturbed snow! Plus, the main office at Ricketts Glen is a gorgeous building. It was the perfect combination for a stunning winter engagement session. Molly, John, Jack, the pups, and I formulated this system: take a few photos and just before frost bite set in, run inside to warm up.

It worked! I don’t know how long it took them to thaw out completely but I think it was worth it!! And, just for the record, I did offer them the opportunity for a snowball fight, they quickly declined. Can’t wait for their winter wedding!!!

Pine Barn Inn Wedding- Nate & Alaina

ATTENTION: In this blog you will find the most weather diverse photos of a wedding day I have every captured, I wouldn’t have believed it myself if I wasn’t there.  But more on that later, first lets talk about these two love birds.

First the wedding day stats: Ceremony & Reception: Pine Barn Inn in Danville, Bride & Groom: Incredibly laid back, Weather: Magical.

Alaina was best friends with my little sister growing up, so I have known her for a loooong time! I was so SO excited when she and Nate chose me to capture their wedding day photos! A November wedding, I remember thinking, I hope there is snow.  A few weeks before the wedding I met up with these two at their friend’s cabin where they were going to have their portraits taken.  They brought their wild and crazy and adorable pup Cal, (not to be confused with cow), and we checked out the amazing property. There was a barn, and open fields, and then a pretty steep and rocky ride up to the cabin.  I remember thinking, I hope there is NO snow, this could get messy.

So, November 19th rolls around and wouldn’t you know it, their wedding day is stunning. Stunning! It was 70 and sunny, can you believe it. A full hour of photos with the entire wedding party, outside in November—how lucky are we!!??  Even better, the storm clouds roll in and give us amazing light and wind for some photos in the field.  Then we get to the venue and make it inside just before the start of the rain. Seriously HOW LUCKY!!?? One word about the ceremony, emotional.  It was the only time I’ve seen a ceremony filled with so many different tears and hearty laughter all at once. Tears of joy, tears of sadness, tears of love, and seriously the biggest laughs! It was perfect.

So now, on to the good part, (JK, I know the life long promise of love was the good part, but this was a close second) It starts snowing! IT’S SNOWING. And it is snowing these amazing, white, puffy, beautiful, flakes.  WHAT LUCK??!!! Aliana and Nate trusted me enough to steal them away one last time, to stand in the freezing cold, and let me capture a few last final photos of their day. It was magic.  I really can’t believe their luck, what are the chances? They must have had someone watching out for them that day.

Wilkes-Barre Engagement Session-Laura & Brent

SB Engagement Session

This was the first time I had photographed an engaged couple that I hadn’t met before, and I LUCKED OUT. These two are the best, so fun, so laid back, they are just easy to be around.  Laura kept telling me they had never done a photo shoot before and they had no idea what they were doing!  I think she may have been lying, and they were practicing all week, because but they NAILED it.  Can’t wait until their wedding day!

Session Stats: Location-Hillside Farms in Shavertown, Weather-the most perfect fall sunset, Couple-hilarious!

Bloomsburg Wedding–Mr & Mrs Klebon

klebon-365

Time flies! I grew up across the street from Colin, and Jordan’s aunt is one of my best friends since high school. I remember them as little kids, and I’m pretty sure that was just last week. But, sure enough, on October 8, 2016 I photographed their wedding. It was so much fun! I have never seen such a connection in a bride and groom. I always see incredible love between the couples I photograph, but these two, whoa. I can’t put my finger on it, if it was their history, their trust in and respect for one another, or just how incredibly in awe of each other they are, but it was wonderful to watch.  It was a great wedding day and I am so honored to have been a part of it.

Wedding Stats: Ceremony-Bucknell Chapel in Lewisburg, Reception-Caldwell Consistory in Bloomsburg, Weather-it didn’t rain, & The Couple-ADORABLE.

Pine Barn Inn Wedding–Jake & Rachel

scicchitano-235

This was by far one of the crazier wedding days I have had. The timeline changed, locations changed, and it was raining one second then not, raining, and then not.  But none of that mattered, none of it!!!  These two LOVED their day.  It wasn’t exactly as planned but it was perfect and Rachel and Jake enjoyed every second of it! Running a bit late, no problem…a little rain, who cares!  I love when a couple enjoys their day, I mean REALLY enjoys it.  Too often it flies by, and before you know it’s gone. These two loved every single minute and I loved capturing it for them!!
